DOLOMITES, ITALY, IT'S HERE THAT YOU CAN FIND THE BEST RISOTTO AND A GREAT MOUNTAIN VIEW!

The Dolomites simply have everything... except the sea of course!😜 Stone cliffs tower over green valleys that twist there way through the mountains. Little villages cling to the ridges and hollows, and everywhere chair lifts and gondolas wait to take you higher. It's a bit ironic that although we are in Italy, the first language of the people that live here is German... and like in Germany everything is well organized and well kept. The houses are so different from everywhere else in Italy, the balconies are full of colorful flowers, the people are friendly and the food is good! All this is surrounded with a UNESCO paradise...full of green hills, vineyards... and huge rocky moutains... it's surreal.
We had the chance to be there for a great, but surely over budget holiday... our car started to smoke from the steep hills and we had to stop and let it cool down, so we decided to find a BAITA (mountain house) to eat at for the real mountain experience. We asked a local where to go, and surprise, surprise she directed us to a paradise in Santa Cristina, Val Gardena. What an amazing view and OMG the Risotto with ERBETTE and MOZZARELLA DI BUFALA was just the best of my life... the kids have a playground, animals all around and dogs are welcome too... it's the BAITA PRAMULIN HUTTLE! Located right above the Col Reiser Gondola station, it's perfect for a late lunch after a morning of hiking or skiing! For us it was a big thumbs up for a great meal!
